Collection Instructions: 1. TEST MUST BE SCHEDULED WITH THE PATHOLOGY DEPARTMENT LABORATORY 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE BY CALLING EXTENSION 35801 OR 44127 BETWEEN 7AM -3:30 PM.
2. The use of needles smaller than 23 gauge, Finger sticks and Heel sticks are NOT acceptable.
3. Minimize tourniquet use.
4. Submit citrated blue tube to the black line. 5. Keep specimen at room temperature.
6. HAND DELIVER SPECIMENS TO THE BLOOD BANK (A.0380.01) WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF COLLECTION.

THIS TEST CANNOT BE COLLECTED AT WEST CAMPUS OR THE WOODLANDS
Collection Cut-Off Time: 12.00 PM
Special Collection Instructions: Minimum tourniquet use.
Specimen Transport: HAND DELIVER ONLY TO THE BLOOD BANK (A.0380.01).
Causes for Rejection: 1. Specimen transported through the Pneumatic Tube System.
2. Under-filled or Overfilled Blue tubes
Testing Frequency: TUESDAY & THURSDAY by appointment only (excluding holidays).
Expected Turn Around Time: 24 Hours
